An Interview With What Daisy Did

Kompakt would like to welcome ‘What Daisy Did’ for a business interview.

HWDD2ey, would you like to introduce yourselves and your brand?

Our names are Daisy and Ozric, owners of an ethical and sustainable fashion label ‘What Daisy Did’. We design handbags that are fairly made in India from natural and recycled materials.

Since your inception, how have you seen What Daisy Did grow?

We have had such an amazing response from people that have supported us and helped us to grow. We started out as just selling to our friends and family and now send our bags all over the world.

Tell us about your future products and projects?

We are currently having a range of bags created in India by a small, independent tailor close to where the current bags are made. They will be made from tents and canvas chairs left at festivals and we will be selling them at festivals this year!

What are you feelings about our wasteful society?WDD1

It was at festivals that we first saw how wasteful our society could be and what inspired us to create the collection from festival waste. Since then we have become really aware about reducing waste and encouraging others to do so; in both what they are wearing with our recycled leather handbags, but also in their everyday life. We believe in leading by example.

How do you think businesses should be using their size and power to better manage their waste resources?

As we said in the last question we believe in leading by example and the more influence you have the better example you should be setting. The problem is that the bigger the business the easier it is for them to get away with not taking responsibility for their actions and how that affects our planet.

Where do you see What Daisy Did in the future?

We are hoping to expand further with a couple of new ranges that we have in mind.

We are also hoping to do some more travelling to promote our bags.

Thanks guys! Best of luck!
